The Story of the Wessex Negroni
The Wessex Negroni was created in December 2019, marking a century since the original Negroni was crafted in Florence. Our passion for mixology and Wessex, drives us to create exceptional cocktails using premium West Country ingredients.
Ernest Hemingway was partial to a Negroni. But back then he had to build his own.

The original Negroni was created in 1919 by Fosco Scarselli at the Caffe Casoni in Florence.for Mr camillo Negroni.One hundred years late in 2019 wezt country gin and sweet vermouth Using the trinity of drinks he used but with Wessex gin and vermouth the following beauty was created 100 years later after wonderful tasting sessions across Wiltshire, Somerset and Dorset. In our early tastings of the Wessex Negroni, there were a number of customers who preferred vodka to gin. For this group we did the obvious. We removed the Ramsbury gin and replaced it with the slightly stronger 43%abv Ramsburty Vodka. Customers happy and the abv of the abv of the No.2 Wessex Negroni edges up to yo 99%
